Applications

The Applications tab lists the applications of your workspace and shows whether Chat is enabled for each. Conversations live inside an application, so this is the quickest way to see where Chat can be used.

Chat permission: administration.read

Administration, then Applications. The tab says “Chat access per application is managed in the Identity Server.” There is nothing to edit here.

Each application is one row:

Item What it shows
Name The application’s name
Type tag Tenant app for your own tenant applications
inactive in Identity Server Shown only when the application is not active in the Identity Server
Chat enabled or Chat disabled Whether the application may use Chat

The same count appears in the summary under the page title, for example “2/3 applications with Chat”.

  • Chat enabled: people with access to the application can pick it on the Choose where to chat screen and chat inside it.
  • Chat disabled: the application is shown greyed out with Chat off and cannot be opened.
  • inactive in Identity Server: the application no longer exists as an active application. Chat keeps the entry so you can see it, but nobody can use Chat in it.

To change the status, see Switch Chat on for an application. Chat copies application details from the Identity Server and refreshes them about every 15 minutes. After a change, refresh from the Identity Server to see it sooner.

Nothing: the tab is read-only. Switching Chat on or off is done and recorded in the Identity Server.

Create and manage applications, and control platform access for each: see the Identity Server documentation.

The same action is available through the API: List applications. These operations need a user token; a machine client never gets administration permissions.
